These space marines clearly are over compensating for something.

So, can someone give me a basic rundown of what 40k is, what you do etc. etc?
You buy, build and paint 28mm figures usually made of plastic and if you like play the tabletop wargame.
Some people paint their figures in one or two colours cause they enjoy playing the game more than painting and stuff.
There are several races/nations you can choose, but most people usually start with a few space marines to figure out how the game works.
The game itself is like chess with another million rules including what weapons you've chosen for your army and what the terrain looks like.
You're not forced to move in grids or something, you can run around freely.
It's expensive.

He's just jealous that he'll never be a paragon of mankind.

I got a starter set a few years back and never finished and then lost most of the pieces (including the objective).

also thinking of making a prince using this guy
Like making the weapon into a scythe and like making the head more renegade-ogryn-ish...

The German ArmyDeath Korps of Krieg begs to differ.

Also if you like World War 2 I suggest looking into Flames of War.
