Guys should I restart my lev 20 Ranger to be a mage y/n?
no way, archery is boss especially late game.

also, is there any point to wearing light armor at all? there's a perk to make heavy armor weightless so is there a benefit i'm not seeing?

weightless meaning it doesn't slow you down
it still takes up weight in your inventory. and it's noisier, so harder to sneak in.

..i think.

i'd assume that being weightless means it doesn't slow you down or have weight in your inventory (taking up space).
you might be right about the sneaking part, will need confirmation though.

no im pretty sure it will still take up inventory weight.
and heavy armor has always been harder to sneak with in TES.

edit: ah no i see. according to uesp, the perk requires lvl 70 and its description is "Heavy armor weighs nothing and doesn't slow you down when worn."
so the real advantage to light armor is sneaking. and you wont be slow and fat until your armor skill is lvl70.

Ok so, Im siding with the Stormcloaks, and I read and found out

*SPOILERS*

that at one point you have to attack Whiterun, which is my favorite city in the game :(!
Its where my house is too, as well as my wife and Lydia. So what happens if I attack the city with the stormcloaks, do I lose Lydia? What happens to my wife and house?

It's weightless when you are wearing it, but heavy armor just laying in your pack still weighs a lot, this was a perk in oblivion as well. There is the same perk for light armor and heavy armor does affect sneaking.

It's okay after the seige it's business as usual in Whiterun, just a different Jarl and Stormcloaks as guards.

When you attack cities for either the Stormcloaks or the Legion, the city just falls to the control of your faction. The city isn't razed to the ground, if that's what you're wondering.

I was in the same situation and my house and lydia were there once the city is taken.

Sadly, there was a glitch for me. I can't upgrade my house in whiterun as the new steward doesn't have that dialogue option. I think Aventus goes to Solitude afterwards, so I'm going to try to talk to him.

how do i actually upgrade my armor? i've got 100 smithing and the perk to make my dragon armor but i can't find how i actually do it?

New set of Orcish Armor. Upgraded to Epic quality. Also upgraded my Dwarven warhammer and mace to Epic. <3

Gotta visit a workbench. It takes one ingot of metal to upgrade a corresponding armor piece or weapon(iron ingots to upgrade iron weapons and armor, steel for steel weapons, etc.)

thanks

time to make me some legendary dragon armor!

Two fine dwemer daggers is how I roll.

I keep a bow with a healthy supply of arrows, a dagger, and the clothes on my back. I think I'm at 60 something pounds of weight. I love traveling light.
