I may have to give up on this. The closest carriage to Winterhold is Windhelm, which isn't close at all. Everytime I want to trave from Winterhold to anywhere, I have to make that long run. I want to persevere, but I don't think I have the willpower.

get a mark & recall spell mod or something if there is one. i wouldnt consider that cheating, as it was a spell in morrowind

Unarmed isn't nearly as effective in Skyrim as it is in Oblivion, unless you have the Iron Fists perk and a good pair of gauntlets. Unless those circumstances are met, you cannot be a badass with unarmed combat.

I looked in the load menu and anything pertaining to my old character wasn't there, just saves from the new character.
