Author Topic: Is it possible to get a file off of a broken Mac?  (Read 827 times)

So about 4ish months ago my Macbook Pro decided to break. At first I was concerned, but I then went out and bought another laptop.

I just realized that I have all my passwords on that computer. Is there any way to get them onto a thumb drive?

Umm, if the computer itself physically broke then i guess you could remove the hard drive and attach it to a working computer and copy the files from there.

Yeah but wouldn't that be tough to do with a laptop?

Well the battery broke, and I have no interest in buying a new one.

Are you serious?
Plug it in without the battery and turn it on.

If you are talking about the broken laptop if he really doesnt care about the thing considering he bought a new one he could just tear the thing apart.

I don't know where I would borrow one from.
No one I know has a mac and there isnt an Apple store ANYWHERE near by.

Also, no need to get mad.

it's broken, right? if you don't want the computer anymore you can open it and wire the charger directly to the computer, bypassing the broken jacks.
