I'm not making you pay for it. I'm electing people who keep these laws in the book, and I will continue to vote for these people forever because it's the right thing to do.
You can't bring in right and wrong into an argument. Right and wrong is a matter of opinion. People used to think that cannibalism was a right, in fact some thought divine, act. Nowadays if you eat somebody, you're going to jail for life.
Your freedom to do what? Have marginally more money? No sorry, this really doesn't infringe on your freedom at all.
My freedom to not pay for some random person's disability check. I'm being forced to donate to charity basically.
We're saying the deserve the same rights that you are gaurenteed under the Constitution. It's not an issue of "I don't care about other people," it's an issue of what's legal and what's not. Building a library with 2 foot wide doors to exclude fat people is a violation of human rights. Building buildings that disabled people cannot access and not providing the means for them to do so is a violation of a basic human right.
Paying a specific person money because they can't walk or something is not the same as allowing access to the building by all people. Paying them the money will not allow them to live the same as everyone else, because they still can't walk. Its basically free medicare for a small group of people who didn't do anything to deserve it.
Not sure if that last part makes any sense, I'm tired.
Also, I keep laughing at the people who keep kissing your ass every time you post. I don't think you're stupid or anything, but its just funny.
