Author Topic: Recommend Coulmbai a good, cheap, way of upgrading his computer  (Read 679 times)

It's starting to be a piece of stuff, and my mom said i was forbidden to get a new one.

But what my mom doesn't know is that you can upgrade pcs, so that's what i want to do.
Now, it's current specs are

Intel(R)
Pentium(R) D CPU 3.00GHz
2.99GHz, 2.00 GB of ram
Physical Address Extension
The video card is a Nivida Geforce 7900 GX

Now, i'm not sure what most of this means, because i'm handicapped. So I ask of you, blockland forums, to help me.

get a better processor
more RAM

I know what ram is, but could you recommend me a processor?

What do you consider cheap? An i3 or i5 would be cheap and perform well however you may need a new motherboard.

Not enough.  I can flat out tell you that's not enough for even a processor.

You'll need maybe a nice $250-300 if you keep your GPU.

how2getmoney?

Ask for birthday money, christmas money, etc.

I racked up $420 (lol) on my birthday in total once.  Spent it on a Core 2 Duo/9800GT build.
