I think pragmatic existential nihilism is the way to go. It means that life has no inherent meaning, so humans are not born with a purpose in life, but that people have to make their own meaning to life. When you make your own meaning, go big, so you leave your legacy.
Once you die you will presumably still be a form of matter without consciousness.
And your body still remains after death
Well if you guys consider the fact that we get recycled into our most basic elements, you kinda do just disappear. No matter is left that is distinguishably "you."
