Author Topic: What do I do with this Milkshape3D exporter file?  (Read 837 times)

So, I decided I wanted to start add-on making, so I download the exporter for Milkshape3D from the Blockland website, but now I have no idea what to do next. Help, please?

Make a model

*Facepalm*

I mean, the file has finished downloading, but after that, now I have no idea what to do with the file.

I think the files of the plugin have to be put in the root folder of milkshape.

What root folder of milkshape?

You know, where you installed it.

C:/ProgramFiles/Milkshape3D

or something

I only download the exporter for the program. Was I supposed to install something from somewhere else, too?

A dts exporter?
If yes, there is already one build in MS3D.

This is getting confusing.

How about you just give me a guide on finding and installing Milkshape3D?

What, you downloaded a plugin and not the program itself?

I downloaded the DTS exporter for Milkshape3D from the Blockland website.

Just go download milkshape from here
It already supports .dts files

But if you are interested in blender, then I'll give you some links for getting started

Just letting you know, blender is free.

I use both of these versions, 2.59 to model, and 2.49 for animating and exporting my models.
Here is a download of the 2.49 version with the exporter already installed
Here's the more advanced version, but it doesn't support the exporter.

Also, to be safe, and for the blender .dts exporter to work, download
python 2.6.3
python 2.6.1

The general modification help section has a topic called Big List of Tutorials

Also, there's a General Blender Help Thread
