Author Topic: Slow Datablock Loading & More Than One Player Allowed in Singleplayer?  (Read 963 times)

As most of you know, Fraps can drastically lower your framerate if you have a crappy PC (or a laptop in my case). Due to the high CPU usage from Fraps, can it slow down Datablock loading and Object loading? From my experience, it does, but I'm no expert and not very well at explaining why.

Secondly, when I play in Singleplayer, the player list states that there are 1/x players in the server, where x > 1. I noticed that x is also equal to the player amount I had set when I hosted a server. Does Singleplayer ever display 1/1, or is it always 1/(whatever you player amount was set to)?

According to what I've seen, Fraps doesn't affect my datablock load. Does make it stutter-y though.
Singleplayer shouldn't even show a player amount, that's probably your problem :/

It probably does because of the CPU usage.

I know how that happens, but I don't know why anyone would consider it a problem. You don't even need F2 in singleplayer.

The playerlist thing is just caused from your server's previous name and player limit.
Basically it does nothing.

Here's the full explanation.

Singleplayer loads the game as a LAN server, taking all your settings into account as normal. However, with the only difference being that it does not open any connections for people to join through.

Thanks for the explanation Chrono and Kobe.
