They were missing for more than a week so the Soviet Army searched them. Eventually, they found their tent; teared in the inside. Soon, they found their bodies. The bodies were burned, underwent aging, and even one body had no tounge.

My theory:
One of the hikers got really paranoid so he teared up the tent and convinced the others to go with him.
