Just look back at the age of exploration. The european explorers such as Columbus were harsh. They made native americans slaves, took all their land, and made them live under devastating conditions. Well that's an example of greed.
The missionaries. Oh god. They tried to convert native americans and african americans to whatever religion they were. Some forced them to convert and made them do chores so their god can forgive their sins. Example of power and also greed.
I don't expect the aliens to be nice unless their religion is based on serenity and comprehension. Yea we should have a religion like that. No gods, no angels, no after life. Just be kind to your neighbor. Do not practice greed- anyway, just look at us. Not only did the european explorers did that, some other cultures did as well. I'm not going to extrapolate but when the more powerful side wants something, they'll do anything to crush their opponent.
