As well as the specification requirements, some motherboards have real problems handling anything newer than XP, especially the Asus A8n and K8n series.

Really?  That's crazy, I didn't think motherboards could be actually incompatible with newer OSes.

Lol, macafee. I had that on my old xp, switched it out for norton in a heart beat.

The Asus A8N-VM CSM is really bad for it. They say it supports Vista, but for that to work, you must flash your BIOS, which is more than a problem with that particular board. It will go successfully but when the machine is restarted, the original BIOS version is back in control.

I've never had trouble with norton, macafee is just handicapped. It used to make me prompt before playing videos on YouTube.

Norton will hog up your CPU unless you are using NASA's computer.

You know what anti-virus I have?  None, except for Malwarebytes scanner lol.

I have some crazy Spamfighter thing on my laptop that my dad had put on it and it's completely silent and doesn't interfere with me at all.  Actually I don't even know if it's running half the time.  There's no shortcuts or icons but it's detected by Cisco NAC Clean Agent software so it works.

I have no virus protection apart from on my main computers where I use a pretty lax version of Kaspersky, just for silent attacks etc.
