I think that would just be annoying to not see very long, but it would be very good for bad computers.

Its ment for terrain generators mainly, plornt is working on a second version that is much more efficent too

Do you think there would be a way to make it only load bricks that can be seen by tou? And delete the bricks behind walls.

Doubt it

I bet Plornt could figure out a way.
He is a genious :P

I can see where this would be useful and where it would be annoying.

Useful -

  • It would reduce graphical lag due to high brick count to almost nothing.

Annoying -

  • It would actually increase server lag due to every player having to constantly ghost new bricks (unless I am missing something).  Imagine a server of more than 10 players doing this continuously.
  • It would make navigating a larger build or server difficult, as players would only be able to see so far around themselves...kind of like navigating a map with fog of war in RTSs...unless the distance is adjustable.
  • Locating spam would be next to impossible.
  • And lastly...the brick plant clicking.

Not trying to stuff on your idea.  It does have potential.

Oh god, you know that part in mario galaxy when the blocks appear as you walk torwards them? Challange.

Again, its mainly for terrain generators, not a freebuild or anything like that

when the players have jets and are moving really fast across the map and stuff like that, yes, it does end up lagging badly, but when you're just walking along, like I did in the video, there is no lag

It's got potential to be pretty cool, however I honestly don't think it's worth it.

For terrain generation, yeah, certainly.

Heh, think of the RPG's, and the way blockland would look if it had a minecraft kind of terrain effect that surpassed the brick limit by a ton, and never went over the actual limit

Needs less brick plant sounds. It if were silent it would be perfect.
Are you planning on adding ways of editing the radius?

I talked to plornt about the plant white to color thing, he said he could stop it from doing that, and I have not talked to him about the brick plant sounds

This would be a cool way to render darkness, however, looking out of your bricks field  to another players position would be really weird. (Mainly if that other player was in a confined area like another hallway.)
