Author Topic: Is my teacher being rediculous?  (Read 1523 times)

The teacher was lecturing everyone about why we lost free seating (we were leaving a mess behind) and I had a sudden joke in my head, so I raised my hand.  "Yes, Gordon?"  He said.  "I'm all about cleaning up before I go, but we need to create a mess so the janitors have a job!  We're helping the economy."  I said it in an obviously joking manor, not exactly like that but pretty close.  "Oh, well if you think like that then clean up our table for the rest of the week."

Before we go to lunch, I walk up to him and ask him why I had to clean up for everyone's mess.

"Because that was the most disrespectful thing I ever heard you say, some janitors enjoy their jobs.  The last thing they need is a punk like you making fun of them.  Any other questions?"

"No, sir."

"Good."

I never made a mess at the cafeteria before in all the time I've been to school, so I think the teacher is just being an starfish.

these are the times you engage in an argument of epic proportions without offending the teacher

ya know, row row fight the powah

"Oh, well if you think like that then clean up our table for the rest of the week."
But you're not getting payed.
So you don't get the full expirence.
Therefore the point the teacher was trying to disipline into you is lost.

Just tell him you'll tell the janitors you're doing their work.

You deliberately insulted a janitor's authority.

Clean that table for a week you sick forget.

Since when are teachers able to make you do physical labor as a punishment? Resist. Fight the oppression.

That really wasn't all that respectful. Yes, it is their job and it was just a joke, but you make it out to seem so...demeaning. She was obviously being serious and didn't need someone to make light of the matter.

And just remember, Bricky: Janitors and hobos hold infinite folk knowledge and more often than not mystic abilities that far surpass your field of comprehension. They are just humble about it. You may need them one day, you never know.....

But it was disrespectful and was totally uncalled for. There is a time for joking and a time for being serious.

Still, this is a little bit much.

Cleaning a bunch of tables for a week is considered "much"?

lol ok

At my school, about 1/4 of that is more than enough.

Obviously yes, you were a total douche for suggesting that janitors have fun cleaning up after stuff.
