Author Topic: Things you may not have known about Blockland  (Read 16018 times)

You can make a post on how to do that if you like- I can link it on the OP

*Event Depends on what direction you want the radar to scan.*

To make a Radar (This involves some spam) a (well any size you want) 4 X 4 made of 1 X 1 blocks. Then color it (any color you want) yellow and then put in the events: OnActivate>Self>FirerelayNorth* and OnActivate>Self>Firerelayup. Only on the First column of the radar. Color the rest of the 3 X 4 blue. Then on the receiving end of the radar(depends on how far and what direction scan of the radar) a 1 X 4 X 5 brick and put in the Events: OnProjectilehit>Projectile>Bounce ( ). Now for the scanning part of the radar (the blue 3 X 4 build.) Put in the events for ALL the blue bricks: Onrelay>Self>SpawnProjectile>Radio Wave (or a harmless bullet for a radar to detect blockheads.) and Onrelay>Self>FirerelayNorth*. Kinda long tutorial don't cha' think?
(well it's my first one to write or type) Will add Pics soon.

Edit: stuff i almost forgot Add this to the blue part of the radar OnProjectilhit>Self>SetColor ( )

Edit 2: Add this Onrelay>SetColor( ) for a new scan.

Edit 3: First pic: after first run 2nd pic:in action (the scan was WAY too fast to catch) 3rd pic Scaning a little build.

Ok I see. So it's a wall of guns that shoot, and if the recieving end bounces the projectile back- then it's like it knows nothing is there?
And if it doesn't bounce back, then it hit something.

Hmm, seems good, but it also seems a bit more like instructions for an evented build then something that's just interesting that ppl mayn't know about Blockland.

Meh, give some credit for me trying :/

It's really good, I might add it to the topic, not sure yet. The general idea that you can make scanners in that fashion might fit.

Did i mention that it can detect vehicles? (the outcome is a WAY different than what you'll expect).

Really?
I thought it'd just work like other things, the projectile hits the item and explodes. So it'll be a different color than the other bricks- what else would happen?

That's a really neat idea, not least because if the bullets don't kill whatever is on the other side, you know EXACTLY where the are (or were).
