Flying model planes. I suggest strapping small cameras to them and fly them off somewhere. I'd also attach a GPS if you're planning a long distance flight.

If you have an airsoft field nearby, if you goto it, it is mandatory you wear face protection. But you should mentor him on safety procedures on Airsoft. It's nearly impossible to get hurt any serious injuries if you take the right precautions.
