I could see why the Super Tomcat was a comparable fighter to the MiGs-it was a good size larger. It looked like it could be a multirole, but I knew it held some heavy-duty air-to-air missiles.

The leather seat was surprisingly comfy.

Ok, I decide to drink a sip of water. My arm wound is very visible now

"Goddamn," I mutter. What the forget happened to him? "Come on, I'll take you to the infirmary. That needs to be checked."

I shifted in my sleep, thinking about flying the beauty I was sleeping in.

While Alex dreamed of flying, I dreamed of my wife back at home. She's probably worried sick.

I dreamed of coming back from the war, being received into open arms... Just a dream, I reasoned. I had to survive first.

"Back-handed reverse double augmented katana bitchslap of death."

I climb, carrying a blanket, into my new Foxhound, painted to resemble my old F-4's scheme. "Good night, everyone. I'm glad we survived that ordeal."

"Why does Lenta not get new plane?" I try to laugh.

"You need to heal, Lenta. I almost wish I had died in that hellstorm."

Then, a fireball follows the sun setting in the distance.
It goes down, out of sight.

"What was that fireball...?"

I had the strangest dream ever that night. For some bizarre reason I dreamed of slow dancing with an F-18E. It was the most wonderful dream ever, and because I was on meds for sleep I had completely uninterrupted dreams. We danced for what seemed like hours, with a few fast-dances.  After a steamy make-out session,  it ended after we stared into each other's eyes for several moments.

When I woke up at 7:00 I decided to ask the doctor the side effects of my pain medication. "loving christ, why do I have a woody right now?" I mumbled.
