Author Topic: Thinking about upgrading my PC  (Read 2744 times)

Thanks, I appreciate the post. It would be quite a while before I could get another $200, though it might start snowing soon here, so I could probably shovel some walks or something.

by equal, do you mean they would both need to be upgraded? also, how out of date would you say my computer is anyway? would it even be worth upgrading? Honestly I was just thinking about upgrading so I could play skyrim when it comes out.
I'd personally upgrade the CPU first, one, because a good one is cheaper than a good GPU, and two, they are more useful for both some gaming (BF3 anyone?) and also all other computer tasks.

The cpu is the processor, and the gpu is the graphics card right?

I appreciate all the help, I know the specs aren't out yet, but is it likely my computer would be able to run skyrim? and how good would you guys say my computer is anyway? old? or middle of the road? should I wait until better stuff comes out before thinking about upgrading?

Thanks.

If he's okay with low settings, you can achieve a nice framerate at low at 1680x1050

Yes, and probably yes, on low detail.

Your computer is way better than mine. :C

Like, 4 times better.

My dad has that same processor, it kind of sucks in my opinion.
I guess it's after using a quad core for such a long time.

yeah, it's hard to downgrade. when you don't know anything better, it's easier to cope.
