Finding variables is pretty much working backwards.
So would it be 6-2 or 6-4 for the first one?
Obtain a common denominator. For the first one, for instance:x/4 + x/2 = 6You want to multiply the second part, so it would be:x/4 + 2x/4 = 6and then add normally:3x/4 = 6Then multiply both sides by 4.3x = 24Then divide both sides by 3x = 8
@TheKhoz, was about to post almost the exact same thing, except 3 times 6 isn't 24.
