Author Topic: Need a $1300 GAMING build  (Read 5989 times)

I know you like your Rosewill stuff, but for a build of this proportion, please step away from the budget brands.

Also, that's a great build. Would you SLI the 580s down the track? No need to, with only one 1080p monitor, would be worth it if you picked up 2 more for 3 total or something, or upgraded to 2560x1600 or whatever that huge resolution is.
You'd probably be better off getting a 2600k if you are.

Also, hard drive speeds affect everything. You'd be stupid not to do it in a build of this price.

For PSU, OK. I barely understood the GTX 580 talk :P.

Also for the 2600K, I've asked many tech geeks, many friends and such, say that I should stick with a 2500K, because the i7 only has a bit more MHz (Which I can overclock the 2500K) and has better multithreading support, which I won't really use unless I'm doing intense 3d modelling and video editing.

For SSD, it loving raises my price to 1500 man. D:

EDIT:

BTW, I laready replaced my Rosewill. Don't know if I switch to the XFX or stick with this:

I'd go for the XFX instead, personally though.

Would you eventually get another 580? Or would you stick with one?
Because one is ample for one 1080p HD monitor, only get another if you're gonna get 1 or 2 more 1080p HD monitors later on, or if you're gonna upgrade to a 2560x1600 monitor (or whatever that huge resolution is).
Don't get a Bulldozer yet, I don't think they are worth it in your budget.

Another if I go higher. I jsut went to my friends house, and he played Just cause 2 maxed on his 5770 on max settings with 1080p 30 inch monitor with 30FPS plus. O.o

Do I even need the "Lightning Xtreme" edition GTX 580? Or should I just get the normal Lightning? That way I could spare some money for the SSD...

Gosh damnit now i want a new computer
Mabye i'll just save up for one of those not too great but still pretty good 500$ ones

Implying that Just Cause 2 is hard to play.

Also, the Lightning Xtreme has 3GB of RAM instead of 1.5GB. It would be nice to get it, but I'd recommend the Twin Frozr instead:
