Author Topic: Do you think humans will ever harness the power of Nuclear Fusion?  (Read 3050 times)

Fusion is the process that he sun goes through, where a proton of an atom fuses with that of another atom, which can lead to awesome capabilities.

Not to be confused with fission, which is splitting the atom's nucleus. AKA nuclear bombs

Maybe you can somehow achieve nuclear fusion by first utilizing fission?
IMO it's a very interesting subject that can lead to very futuristic things, such as advanced robotics, a new power source that does not create nuclear waste, etc.

Do you think we will ever utilize the full potential of nuclear fusion?

Humans aren't intelligent enough to play with Nuclear Fission.

Yes.

Then we can move to antimatter.
And that's like-

Effing devastating, split that crap, and it's all over.

Like OVER.

Ill harness your nuclear fusion ;)

It's basically putting a mini star in a metal container.
We've been researching it for 60 years now.

But not enough to think outside the box with it, just put it in a box and look at it.

I've done it before. I got a D- on my project though because my board was really really ugly.

Nuclear what

you mean like the stuff in fallout that makes everyone dead

Damn that sucks. My teacher gave me an F on my science fair project because I blew up the school with a fission battery I made D:

Fusion NOT Fission.

Excuse me?

If you rearrange the letters in "nuclear" you get "unclear" which is what nuclear is to me. :O!

Quote
Nuclear fusion is the process by which two or more atomic nuclei join together, or "fuse", to form a single heavier nucleus. This is usually accompanied by the release or absorption of large quantities of energy. Fusion is the process that powers active stars, the hydrogen bomb and experimental devices examining fusion power for electrical generation.

"Not big suprise."

We already have.
Through experimental technologies of course.
