The only reason you would think it got out of hand when more people joined is because you didn't like the community.
And the community is ROBLOX's targeted audience. You say ROBLOX is bad because of the community, you don't like it because it's not a game for your age group.

Pretty much everything there is bad. It's not just the community, but everything.
Forum = full of spam threads like "clik here for 535353 tix!!!" "ujelly of ma shaggey swag????????"
Games = "OGM WOO KILED TIS GUY? JUMP OVER LAVA TO FIND OUT!1!one!1"
Moderation = Pathetic. You can't post your opinion about anything there or you already get a 3-day ban. But the spam topics? Nope. They don't get deleted. Inappropiate games? Don't get deleted. There's a huge exploiter on roblox? They ignore it.
Gameplay = Horrible. Whenever there has to be an important update to fix something annoying, they just give out more hats and hope to get them quiet with it.
The only fun thing left to do is build good places and play on it with your friends, since the community doesn't seem to give a forget about interesting, good places anymore. NOTHING else on roblox is fun these days. Unless your version of fun is constantly spamming topics in the wrong forum on purpose since you know nothing's going to be done about it with the stuffty moderation.
