Author Topic: Resetting passwords  (Read 2257 times)

Hi. My dad is kind of handicapped, and he set a password for the admin account on this laptop several months ago without writing it down. Of course now he has no goddamn clue what it was. Is there any way I can reset a password without having to use a loving boot disk or any technobabble stuff like that?

http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/
use the livecd, burn it to a blank cd, then restart, boot from cd, and it handles it for you

$10 says the password is password123

How would I do this from a non-admin account.

In safe mode you are an Administrator because you are in safe mode. How would you do anything in safe mode otherwise?

In safe mode you are an Administrator because you are in safe mode.
Except I'm in safe mode right now and no I am not.

that's not technical at all. burning a disk is easy, and so is booting from cd. after you boot from cd, it starts cracking
