I dont even think GAME DESIGNER is a job. What do you mean by that? Are you modelling a tree? Are you making the menu buttons? Youre sure as hell not going to be making entire games by yourself and getting paid. Its just like if I posted about wanting to be a neurosurgeon.

Game designer is probably a broad term for concept designer or character designer.

I'll agree "game designer" is the wrong term for anyone to be using. But I'm not sure it's fair to speculate who or how many people will become what.
