Author Topic: My sister got a letter from the "People to People" ambassador program or whateve  (Read 841 times)

My sister got a letter to go to the "People to People" Ambassador Program to travel to austrailia to learn stuff, it says she has been qualified when we never signed her up for anything. My dad and I thought it was pretty sketchy, and by googling and finding this:

http://www.consumeraffairs.com/travel/people_to_people.html
I knew it was a scam. My dad is still pretty skeptical, but my sisters like "WHATEVER UR JELLY I WNT TO GO"

holy forget am i nervous.
my sisters grades so far are 70s, when I was in her grade i got 90s - 100s, and I didn't "qualify" which is making me super skeptical about this.

They also gave her a "personal website" which was http://www.peopletopeople.com/hernamehere
which is when im like "holy stuff child enthusiasts"
I tried to explain this too her but she's still all "NAH NAH NAH UJELLYYYYY"
im worried that she will make the dumbass mistake of showing up (and my dad will make the dumbass mistake of taking her) and I will never see her again.

also none of our teachers nominated her to go.
none of her friends with higher grades got this letter either.

At least she would learn her lesson the hard way

How many times have you tried convincing her that this was a scam?
have you shown her all the evidence of this being a scam? did she still not believe you?

i have.
i will not let her learn her lesson by going.
I mean, as much as we argue and fight and she breaks my stuff, I would never, ever, ever let her go on such a sketchy trip.

I got into that. Went to the conference thing, thought, "Wow it would be fun to go there but I dont want to." Thats that.

im pretty sure they want money or to rape you once they get there.

I got a letter from the same thing, along with my sister. I laughed till my sides hurt over the fact that someone has to be wrong in the head to chose me considering my grades.

everyone gets these lol. not necessarily a scam but they are just after your money.

Say something deep and thought-provoking so that she will think about it her whole trip, and when she learns it's a scam and if she comes home, it will practically burn her on the inside and teach her to be more careful the hard way.

Or print out the negative reviews for your parents.

what do you mean coming home? they're not going to let a child go back home and say "MOM DAD THEY RAPED ME"
they'll kill em.
or they'll just take the money and not let her go at all, which its like 1000 bucks, which i dont think is something worth teaching her a lesson.

This, the only one worth going to is the YLC in DC.

My sister got one of these too, to go to England, France, and I think Italy.

She went to some sort of thing talking about it but the thing in all costs three payments of $3,000, and for that much out entire family could go on vacation.  :cookieMonster:
