HMMMM

Something I read earlier:

A GUIDE TO DIFFERENT RELIGIONS
Taoism: stuff happens.
Zen: What is the sound of stuff happening?
Hinduism: This stuff's happened before.
Buddhism: If stuff happens, it isn't really stuff.
Islam: If stuff happens, it's the will of Allah.
Protestantism: stuff happens because we don't work hard enough.
Catholicism: stuff happens because we are bad.
Christian Fundamentalism: stuff happens because the Bible says so.
Jehovah's Witnesses: Knock, knock. "stuff happens."
Judaism: Why does stuff always happens to us?
Agnosticism: We don't know stuff.
Atheism: No stuff.
Hare Krishna: stuff happens - rama lama ding dong.
Rastafarianism: Let's smoke this stuff.

Anyway, I like being an atheist, simply because there isn't any definite way to be an atheist. Well okay, there IS a definition - but it's lest "confined" than other ones. Also, it's open to other religions. As atheists, we still don't know what the world is like. Perhaps there is a god. Maybe there's more than one. Maybe we're stuck inside some sort of advanced alien technology computer place where we're so intelligent we think we exist. Maybe we don't have a god.

Just sayin'.

The Church of Madoka.

"Impartial" and "Agnosticism" should be put into one category, if not just put together with athiesim.
And "smaller cult" is just silly, something isn't a cult just because it's small.

I still wonder if the laws of Physics could just exist since the origin of matter, somehow acting exactly as they do by unnaccountable odds since time began.

That would be agnosticism which is similar to atheism but not the same thing.

I'm always willing to debate anyone who wants to.. The last two or three times I started a debate with an atheist, they just stopped replying :/
Makes me think they don't have any good way to comeback

Jehovah's Witnesses: Knock, knock. "stuff happens."
Oh lord that is hilarious.

I suppose I would be debating with others over the creation of the universe, yes.
And Hell is not some "fiery pit" or whatever crap, that's all this made up stuff that makes people believe Christianity is full of lies. Hell is the absence of God.

How did we become such quick learners? I just feel that every human has a soul with a conscious, where as animals do not. They simply adapt to their environment. Does that mean that you could have been a dog?
We evolved it. An animal adapting to its environment is no different from humans adapting to their environment, there is no "great barrier" between humans and everything else. We have simply come to dominate Earth. As for me becoming a dog... I'm not sure where you're trying to go with that.

I still wonder if the laws of Physics could just exist since the origin of matter, somehow acting exactly as they do by unnaccountable odds since time began.
In the first few seconds of time it is believed that the laws of physics may have been drastically different and rapidly changing, stabilizing after a short time.

You don't have a soul. They don't exist. Deal with it.
We are quick learners because of the way our brain evolved, the methods it has developed to take in information, and the overall hierarchical structure present in the brain allows for immense datatype-less information storage, forming very descriptive yet also loose ended and modifiable memories. Consciousness is simply your existence as you perceive it. You are your brain, nothing more. Your brain is a machine, a very complex machine, but still a machine that one day we will have reverse engineered and be able to construct artificially.

In my opinion, the scientific explanation, IF you chose to pursue it, is so incredibly more beautiful then any god could hope to be. What I understand about the human brain (and I don't claim to understand a lot, in comparison to various scholars) is absolutely amazing when you apply it to "your" very existence.

so we just happened to get a far more intelligent and functioning brain than the hundreds of thousands of other creatures?
