Author Topic: game instantly went back to the title screen  (Read 3281 times)

Works like a dream for me, although the launcher takes a little while to load the game.

I'm going to post this again since nobody seems to notice:
RTBSA_getModList() gets a string > 4kb which causes a buffer overrun.  Everyone get off my richard.

But yeah that is a problem with torque.  I'll look into it.  In the mean time have less mods.

Hey, v20 works perfectly for me, but the GUI thing and Custom Textures thing is what I dislike.

Badspot is going to snap and kill all of you.
Someone call me?

mine has no add on folder so cant have new add ons
Check your documents folder it there...  :cookieMonster:

:panda: This goes in help.:panda:
Ell, if I wanted it to go in help, I would be asking a question. Am I? Nope. Thus, this does not belong in help.

I'm not a fan of v20 right now. GUI edits gone, my config was deleted, my cache was removed and I have to redownload stuff from scratch. I don't get the whole My Documents thing and why if it copies the files to there it leaves them in the old folder. And whats with the launcher, its weird?

Badspot explained within the official topic that you apply GUI Edits as Add-Ons, now. Your config shouldn't have been deleted. Mine didn't seem to be moved, but you can just copy the old one to the new location and it works. I didn't notice if the cache was deleted, but with the new cloud downloading, he probably thought it best to download anew from this cleaner system. It uses My Documents since they circumvents some falsely activated Windows protection that prevented some features of the game which most new users couldn't figure out how to manually work around. It leaves them in the old folder because, if there are any mistakes in the process, who wants to hear "It corrupted all my Add-ons, including my private ones, and deleted the originals!" when you shut off mid process. The launcher is meant to apply minor updates and fix stuff you might have broken like a moron so there's less whining about things here. He couldn't do that within the game itself.

Sounds reasonable. If I want an old GUI edit does that mean I should wait for the author to port it to a proper add-on (or, if I wasn't lazy, do it myself hurp).

short answer: yes

Why did it delete my avatar favourites? :(

Cos' it doesn't love your config.

This happened to me too. I was building some kind of volcanic themed land. It was pretty nice, I just put on the finishing touches before I got the chance to save, and bam. Suddenly I got back to the title screen. I was pretty mad.

That doesn't make any sense!

Edit: I've installed Blockland four times now, what the forget is this stuff?
OK so it wants to update a fifth time... cool. I bet this is all my fault for trying to start Blockland or something.

I don't mind v20 at all actually, I can live without custom textures for a while... untill, well, someone packages them as an add-on.

It won't let me play v19 for more than a minute and if I let it update it just loops.
