THIS IS DEAD, PLEASE DON'T BUMP IT!

MidgardRPG
About
One day, me being bored as usual, Brian Smith suddenly started nagging me about something (I don't remember exactly what) on IRC. Anyway, neither of us really had anything to do, and we were rather bored, so Brian decided to suggest that we should make our own derivative of FlixRPG (Flaw's version of NixRPG), which I didn't agree about (the use of FlixRPG as a base, that is) for some odd reason that I don't even remember, so we decided to make one from scratch. First it was going to be medieval, but then for whatever reason I decided to suggest that we make it "cliché" fantasy viking age-themed instead. Brian didn't really have any objections, and here we are.

Ideas
Alright, first of all, the mod is going to be able to handle a few servers connected to the same data-store (this will probably never happen though as we don't have the resources to run more than a testing server when we're actually doing stuff).
You can also have multiple "profiles" with completely individual stats, etc. There will be some kind of fancy profile switcher later on.
There'll also be support for guilds and parties, but those should be pretty self-explanatory.
On another note, there'll also be different humanoid NPC factions. These factions can be be allies or enemies with other factions, and your interactions with people of factions will affect your rep with both the person, as well as the faction (and their enemies/allies). It's always easier to employ friends than enemies (and the worst of them will, of course, attack you on sight).
On the other hand, there are no predefined classes in the usual sense, but rather a system of "interests". When you start out you have a couple of "interest points" which you are then able to allocate to different interests (for example, 4 points allocated to magic), which then give you a couple of bonuses related to the interests. Also, later on, doing stuff related to the interests (in the case of magic, actually using it) will then give you "interest experience" based on your interest in it. This experience then boosts your use of that interest.

Going to give another RPG a shot.

When I read Midgard, I thought Magicka. Only place I've heard it from though.

When I read Midgard, I instantly thought of Final Fantasy VII. :(

When i read it i didnt think about anything related lol...except midget xD

The medieval period was arguably from very roughly 500-1500. Vikings were very roughly from 800-1050. You picked an "instead" that is smack dab in the middle of your "first".

Maybe he meant instead of making it medieval in general, he wanted to focus on just that one part of the era.

Midgard is the realm of the humans in norse mythology.
