Author Topic: Evolution, why have you done this?  (Read 2479 times)

Why has evolution created gender?
I mean, back when it was just a bunch of cells, they would divide to reproduce.
Why did evolution suddenly deny that factor and create males and females.
The sperm fertilizes the egg which will later become another male or female to repeat the process. But why not just have it so everyone has both sperm and eggs.
I really don't see a reason for different lovees.

Is it so that reproduction can be planned or something, because it requires two different mammals to complete?
Is it so that natural selection had a better chance to continue through the rejection of mates with less desirable traits?

I don't get it.

more like slowly and randomly

barnacles!

no i'm not using a cuss word from spongebob, this is what barnacles do

Well, the way this race of human would appear is as a female.
Considering the bits of male anatomy that differ from a female's are meant for the delivery of sperm.
SO whatever inside of the aloveual human produced sperm wouldn't be on the outside.

But we still use cell-division to reproduce.
How do you think that baby appears inside the womb? It don't just spawn from the ether

I don't remember much from my biology classes unfortunately, but how many multi-cellular organisms even reproduce aloveually?

barnacles!

And snails and certain species of frogs.

I'm not entirely sure that would work. Wouldn't there be a constant delivery of sperm to the eggs if they were carried in the same "vessel"?

this would be kind of humorous
babies
ALL THE TIME

"oh crap, i'm about to have a baby."
"no prob, take your time"

I'd say that'd be awkward but we'd probably be used to it. lol

sounds like someone cant get any pusillanimous individual!

Because evolution allows things that happen to work at least most of the time to continue, not necessarily what works "best".

also this

Are you comfortable with a baby coming out of your snake?

So that we can be genetically different, which is a good thing. If we all had the same DNA, many of us would have died from some genetic disease long ago since our DNA would have all been the same.
