Author Topic: Headset making weird staticky, crackling noise (Now with more popping noise!)  (Read 20982 times)

The plastic on the inside are bent in some odd way, just firmly tap the speaker or get a new pair. Were you listening to anything really loudly through them?

When it started to make that noise, I just detonated a satchel charge in-game and the explosion can be kind of loud, so possibly. Also, I tapped the speakers, and it seems to have worked.. for now. Like I said in the OP, I'll continue to monitor them and keep them on low use for now.

This is what I'm talking about, this could get cracked or kinked.
it vibrates to create sound, so if there are any sudden loud noises it could kink and bend out of shape.
The reason I said to tap it is because it could pop it back into it's regular shape.

I tapped it, but it still kinda statics.

This is a fix related to the microphone, correct?

EDIT: It's not crackling much anymore, but it does have this intermittent popping noise.

Douse it in holy water.

Listen. For me, it was the cord going into the white volume control thing. Move the wire around by it and see if that helps.

You seem to be right. When I move it, it starts to crackle a bit.

What do you suggest I do?

...

You need to replace them, for best sound quality again, my X11's are broken and they wont even urn on now because Iv screwed with them to many times.

I am planning to replace them. But I need a quick fix that can last for a couple days while I talk out the notion with my parents.

Sorry, I was away. Anyway, for a temporary solution, I suggest that you should find the best position and angle for the cord and tape it. For a more permanent solution, you may need to cut off some of the wire and/or re solder it onto the PCB.

Thanks for the help!

Get out. You're not contributing anything to helping me.

It seems that when I move my head in small subtle motions, like shaking my head slowly or looking down, they start to crackle.
It sounds to me like you burnt out your drivers.. lol. It's fixable but not worth fixing. You might also have stuff inside the cups and in between whatever is covering the drivers and the drivers themselves, causing the vibration to make whatever is in there make distorted crackling noises.
