: A magic cult was banded to follow the evil ways of Chok Darr. Although they died off after a generation, the cult's ways were passed down unto young magicians learning dark magic, in turn killing, stealing and ruling. The art of magic was prohibited and mages were killed off in large numbers or driven into the town of Torn. They had thought that their evil magic was holy, and thought the idea of being condemned for their rituals wrong. This eventually led to an uprising which led to the "Third War of Scholars". Many mages died and after their eventual defeat, and they retreated back to Torn, where they hid for years. Until recently have they become a problem again.
