It's hard to explain. What does a hard drive loading sound sound like?

This should give you an idea.

Apparently my SSD was configured for IDE instead of AHCI so now I am going to configure that on my motherboard and hope I can load Windows without reinstalling, again. My disk speeds were at like 45% of the standard benchmark ratings people are getting for it.

Really?
No audio slots at all in the back?
What a forgeted up setup.
Nope. Just 1 headphone slot. Its a HP G72-B60US Laptop. No matter now, since I broke them. Off to the store now for some cheap 15$ Skullcandy Earbuds.

Total amount of cash saved up so far: ~250$

holla holla
get 250 dolla

(About halfway there)

Holy jesus my computer was dusty. Can dust cause hardware issues, and if so how long does it take for said to happen?

This started a long time ago, but when I installed my new GPU, my computers would take longer to start up. Why is that?

It most certainly can. The more dust the less cooling you get. Eventually your parts can overheat, which will eventually cause shorter life span and even hardware failure.

The Marvell SATA controller on my motherboard is severely limiting my SSD write speed. It caps it at the SATA 2 speed despite being hooked up to the SATA 3 port.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU UUUUUUUUU

Hardware issue that cannot be fixed. Will have to wait until I upgrade processor sometime in the next year.

I was having slight heat issues but Im gonna give it some time and see if it helps.

What about the Intel SATA 3 controller ports? They are better if you have them as they contact with everything directly, more streamlined.

The SATA 3 ports are all Marvell on this motherboard series(Gigabyte X58A-UD3R). It looks like people are getting better performance off the Intel SATA 2 ports though so I am going to compare that now.

Dang. Good luck.

Marvell SATA 3

Intel SATA 2

*sigh*

Back to the Marvell ports I guess. I'll just have to deal with this until Ivy Bridge/Trinity comes out.

Aren't they only supposed to hit 500MB/s or so on Sata III?
370 isn't bad.
