Because I don't keep up with Intel stuff. The last thing I heard about Ivy Bridge was it was in development.

The word 'supposedly' makes me think that someone told you ivy bridge is more recent than sandy and you didn't believe them lol

Your case has an ATX form factor but your Mobo is Micro ATX. This means things might not line up properly or fit at all.

You spent too much on excessive RAM, and that ~~SSD is pretty useless because it goes through USB 2.0, which means it will be slower than your SATA hard drive.~~ It has a SATAII interface as well.
