I thought you needed to have 2 cards for 3 monitors with nvidia.

He has that :X

He has that :X

He say's hes gonna buy another at some point, and didn't say it was SLI. I'm sure he would have mentioned it. If he is going for a third 670 what a waste of money.

This is what I was saying in the other topic.

One top-of-the-line card is enough of an indulgence for most people. Two is a ridiculous for his needs. Three is just burning money.

I can understand the productivity of 2 monitors but again, 3 is over the line.

I mean, its cool that he has so much money to throw at a computer like that (including the power bill) but it is totally needless. Its a big boy toy.

I have 3 screens on a £20 GPU + integrated, 7FPS, 150k bricks, shaders off. I'm the winner.

That's probably as powerful as my mini-itx.

Do you use a windows operating system? I didn't think you would since you use Apple products more than anything.

Ye my development machine at home runs Windows 7 but I use my MBP when I'm bored of sitting at my desk. Do everything through PuTTY + VIM on a remote server so I'm not really tied down to a machine.

what's the case called?

He is using a SINGLE GTX 670 inside of a Phantom 410 case :)

Point actually, do ATI drivers work on Ubuntu? I'd swap from W7 to Ubuntu if I could get my 3 screens working on it. I think I use Hybrid Crossfire + SurroundView. Any ideas?

As long as the card you are using has enough monitor ports on it, you can use those. It is not required to have more than one card.

They do work on Ubuntu. Take a look at this documentation.

I think my use case is a bit more specific, perhaps I should have put stronger emphasis on the latter part of my post, thanks though.

Well if this guy can run Ubuntu on 6 monitors I think you could do 3 :P

Catalyst allows you to do so under Linux. The easiest way to install them is to download them from the AMD website, and install them under recovery mode, where X is disabled.
