Author Topic: Old Computer won't transfer enough stuff  (Read 332 times)

Anyways I tried backing up my old laptop to an External Hard Drive and it doesn't copy enough data. It was only copying 50 GB out of the total 200 GB. I decided that copying over just the users folder would do since that's where most of my stuff was anyways. So I tried it only to find it was copying 2.37 GB out of the 99.6 GB that was the users folder. So can anyone help me with this problem?

My old laptop is an Inspiron 1545 and my External is a Western Digital with 1TB of space.

EDIT:

Tried backing up the folders individually and it still didn't work.

Had to copy over one thing at a time. Locking.

OP, are they read only or contain any system files?

Its possible that some of the drive does, but my users folder is completely clear of Read-Only files and system files.
