Waaa I only have 2 GB ram unused on my laptop waaa.
forget off if you arent going to help

Hm. Can we have like a picture of your desktop to see how many games you have and other stuff?

You're sure? What OS are you using? Windows 7 64bit takes up quite amount of RAM.
No, it doesn't.  When I have nothing running on 7 x64, I have about 4.5 GB free out of 6 total.

How much RAM do you have OP?

1.5GB of RAM is a lot. You didn't argue against what I said, you proved it correct...

I never play those games much though. I only seem to play Blockland (rarely) and minecraft (rarely due to 1.8)

You could buy a stick of ram.

You could buy a stick of ram.
I was going to, but i dont have much money
Im just looking this 2gb to hold me over

Doesn't Windows have an option to use USB Flash Drives for extra ram?

Doesn't Windows have an option to use USB Flash Drives for extra ram?
Yes, but it isn't effective.

stuff i dunno you're all dirty foreigners

for some reason in the uk they renamed the books where's wally but in some areas it stayed waldo?

you british are weird

actually the US renamed him waldo, wally is his original name

1.5 GB out of 6 GB?  Not even.  That's just with Skype/Steam/Chrome all open too.  Relative to 6 GB, 1.5 GB of usage is not alot.

With Chrome/Skype/Steam/WMP, it goes up to 1.5 GB.  That leaves a nice healthy 4.5 GB for games and most of the time they don't even use up more than 2.5 GB.

Window's memory usage is relative to the amount of RAM you have installed.  Windows will likely use something around 600-900 MB if you only have 4GB of RAM.  My laptop has 2GB with Windows 7 x86 and it uses 800 MB.

If I were you OP I would just reinstall my copy of Windows and buy more RAM.

I'm pretty sure it was Wally first.

I idle at 2gb ram usage :(

i dont get what that means, "free"

your comp wont use all the ram available. most apps/games/the OS itself will only use so much max.

i have 6gigs of memory, ive never gone over 4g used at any time.

plus you dont want it to use 100% that would mean you dont have ENOUGH ram.

So is there any way to stop this? I want as much ram as possible
It's actually a good thing, as it uses the memory effectively rather than how it was used in XP. That is, if you aren't playing huge memory hog games.
