In other news i'm gonna start a treasure hunt out of boredom. I'll leave signs around with some cyan wool that will end up at a chest with at least 10 diamonds. First one's at my house.

We're not tackling Hunger Games just yet. I like the idea, but it's a lot of work to put one together that is of quality. We'll probably try it out later on, but the options in the poll are the only options we're offering for now. So make your pick and know that I won't forget about trying Hunger Games.

In that sense, sounds like you're trying to over-simplify something that's much more intricate. Simply having a few mountains and 2 factions neglects to address the matter of secrets, traps, challenges, limited resources, boundaries, etc... so in actuality it'll be a lot of work as I said before. And it's not that I'm not going to try it because it's a lot of work, I already said we'll give it a shot. It's just going to be more complex than your suggestion makes it out to be.

I vote we just build a small town and have people run around and kill eachother, and also fill it with traps and a few secrets here and there.

this map is meant for a few players, but i believe that having a server of about 20 people on at a time, 10 in each faction, would drive them to fight over resources brutally. also, because the islands are flying, it gives the possibility of rigging and completely destroying islands when an enemy faction tries to mine it. the trees are really big but in reality those could be completely destroyed by fire, and because half the map is a snow biome, you could knock people off and have them land on ice. the map seems easy to survive on, but i've played it single player and multi player and i can tell you, you will get forgeted over when night comes if you aren't prepared. creepers blow holes in the floor, skeletons shoot you off the islands, zombies crowd you, and spiders constantly jump off of trees and cliffs. boundaries are obviously limited because there is no other land besides the islands.

I support Fred's idea, however I think factions should be limited to 3-7 people.

i think smaller factions would leave themselves open to destruction too easily, considering 3 people can't cover as much time and area as half of the redgistered players can. my idea was that as long as there's people on the server, there's an active player guarding their side, that way one person doesn't just raid with nothing but traps stopping them.

The votes (as they've stacked up so far) lead me to believe we'll go to an FFA all out war server until 1.2 comes out. Fire spread, tnt damage, and no place to hide. Prepare for frustration, or prepare for domination if you form a good enough alliance. Yes, allies are allowed.
