That's the idea. It appears like adding the light is quite a hassle so I might just leave it be.

Is there really no simple way to do this?

What issues happened?

The police car had flashing lights, and if there were other brick based lights around, suddenly only one light was flashing until the police lights were gone altogether. This was because it was hitting the max light quota or something. This was the reason why we switched to emitters.
