Author Topic: Occupy Oakland Police Brutality?  (Read 3632 times)

YES
Thank you for pointing that out. These goddamn protesters think that dramatic change will happen from them being stubborn jackasses.

Actually, I see some pretty big changes ahead if all these cities with all of these people get even more cities with even more people occupying them.

Also, Nymethus, I agree that they should be allowed to protest peacefully, but it isn't the policeman's fault that the commander told them to arrest the protestors. It was either that or lose their job on DA FORCE

Brutality was unnecessary though.

its primarily a bunch of college grads with liberal arts degrees wondering why they are so stupid

1) While I'm sure there's plenty of stupid hipsters at the occupy protests, despite what you heard on Fox News, there actually is a purpose to it. It's an effort to create some form of equality through fair loving taxes and to remove the massive amounts of money that are dumped into political interests every year. 'Buying' politicians is legal.

EDIT2: And ending the massive scams that banks and financial institutions pull and get off scott free.

2) There is a massive difference between police brutality and evicting people.

EDIT: Jesus christ they used loving tear gas. It's a peaceful protest.

Yeah cause the police are just trying to keep down white man. Anyone who complains about police brutality is an absolute handicap
Would like to point out that I was not complaining since I do not know the exact circumstances.

Saw this on the news this morning.
Both sides are to blame imo.

Bish, it's occupyoakland.org.

One opinion column doesn't really reflect the general coverage that fox and the media in general have been giving OWS (and that column was pretty mixed).

I agree that was harsh. But still.

but still what? it is COMPLETELY UNJUSTIFIABLE to do that to peaceful protesters.

We should just start occupying our schools.

better than sitting on their asses on the internet bitching about how forgeted up everything, they try to get things to change.

The cops were doing their jobs.

^^^ us marine
he was shot in the face with a gas canister, his skull is fractured and his brain is swelling, he's currently in the hospital
[source]
protesters pulled him from the tear gas clouds screaming for help when the police were throwing flashbangs at people

The police had a job to do, unlike all the other people.
it's oakland, which is one of the poorest cities in the state.
there are no jobs.

Well in that case I am completely pro-protesters. That's completely unnecessary.

I seriously doubt that the police were intending to hit people with the gas canisters, and the fact that he's a marine doesn't change my opinion on the matter at all.

Those protesters deserve every fractured skull they get.
