I rather have normal regular minifigs for security reasons.

Author Topic: WHAT IF lego made a robotic minifig for 500 dollars each would you buy it?  (Read 4883 times)

No because if I had 100 dollars I'd put it with my spare change and buy a Cadian battleforce so I can go do things with real friends instead of some machine.

100 pounds is the normal price of every good Lego product in the catalogue...
or you could just buy a Volkswagen Camper Van model.

Yeah 100 seems a bit cheap, how about for 500?

Then I'd want it even less.

If you can control it and has camara(so you can see what he sees) eyes
then, maybe.

Even if a tiny figure could hold all the computer crap inside it and could actually know where bricks are and were they could be put, it would cost at least 2.000. Plus what if you lose the figure or break it? Do you honestly think your parents will be stupid enough to save up another 2,000 for you when you will probably break it or lose it again. Also how would it be able to walk and stuff? beside the reasons other people said it would still not now where to go unless it is a remote control robot. Even if it is a remote control robot how would you be able to see where it's going when you make it go inside a Lego building?

So the answer to your question is no.

In maybe 20 or 30 years when we have all the crap  and it is actually possible ( which would take about 2 or 3 years just to make the first one) yes, I would buy it :).

Micro Motors dont exist. and a Microchip is not enough for a Robot that can learn. You would also need a storage unit for that data.

Jumping? not possible unless you stick pistons in his legs
Talking? If you can find me a tiny microscopic microphone and speaker, be my guest.
Building? How the forget do you expect it to do that with a single jointed arm?
Walking? Same problem. Single jointed legs
All of the problems you stated are very easily overcome and a microscopic microphone and speaker would be easy to obtain. Joints can be added. The arms and legs can be covered in a rubber housing. Pistons in the legs would work fine too.

OK even if it did all work(which it wouldn't) would you really expect it to be 500 or 100 in price?

No it would be about 2,000 or something.

Its dollars, not pounds people

and yes

i didnt say pounds or dollars and no
