No its not. I haven't seen a single school in 10 years that uses Dell in any of the cities I've lived in or visited. Its always been Apple, HP, or occasionally I've seen Compaq. I'm sure there are schools that do use them but, they are not a standard, that is just ludicrous.

Dell is shoddy anyway.

We used Dells and HPs at my schools, and I've never seen anything else. God, those things were stuffty.
In highschool, everyone was given a portable HP. After 3 years, my CPU had a constant running temperature of 150C, the battery lasted 2 mins fully charged (I'm not even kidding) and the screen had been replaced once.  And I had 3 chargers in 3 years...

What operating system is determined by matter of preference, not popular opinion and appeal. I find it the least bit sickening that you all generalize the majority of the people whom use a different operating system than you use.

I dunno maybe the whole mac vs windows argument is more just what OS you like to use? They have different looks ect. but at the end of the day they're both personal computers with only slight advantages to different things.

e.g If you grew up using macs you're most likely going to be a mac person. But windows people would rather use windows. Its the same story for me and my best friend.

My teacher owns a Mac, she says she likes it. As Sheath said its about the simplicity. All my computers were Windows XP and my most recent W7.

No one here should be stuffting on the Mac's capability because of its price and what hardware it has. You're starting to sound like the rest of society.
