You guys do understand that the standard  computer for schools is a dell Pc, right? Kids aren't being tought on macs, they are learning about pcs. Did you know the majority of youth also uses a console for games? If you play games on console you really don't need a Pc, and Mac is better for things like video editing, music, and stuff like that. Pcs have a reign on the game market, but that market is mostly for people in college or out of school. It's not like a kid is going to keep a Mac throughout highschool and college.

No its not. I haven't seen a single school in 10 years that uses Dell in any of the cities I've lived in or visited. Its always been Apple, HP, or occasionally I've seen Compaq. I'm sure there are schools that do use them but, they are not a standard, that is just ludicrous.

Our school still has Dell d620's and d630's. We just upgraded to new machines, and they're certainly BETTER but...it's still dell...oh, and our desktops are Dell's too.

Although in the library, in the yearbook room, and in journalism, there are only macs. Yeah, the macs are only used in the departments that involved creativity: music department, art department, yearbook staff, and journalism.

The Mac OS is far better than windows.
I'll be expecting some handicapped insults because people here are gamers and that is not the Mac's strong point so they'll deem it a piece of stuff.

Well, they technically design some processors but they don't manufacture them.

Apple is really just attempting to fish money out of schools by offering them deals with their MacBooks. Then the kids are brainwashed into thinking Macs are good at everything (including gaming) and they start their religious cult or whatever.

I don't like Apple or their computers but what you just said is completely handicapped.

My school got a great deal on mac computers to the point where if they paid the same price to buy retail laptops, they wouldn't function as good or carry the same hardware. Giving schools and academic organizations deals on laptops is not a bad thing.

Sure it's a business strategy, but all corporations and businesses have to market their service or product to the youth to maintain their consumer base. Otherwise they go out of business.

Our new computers are Dell Optiplex 380s. So, Yeah.
