Author Topic: computer randomly running slowly?  (Read 981 times)

this week my computer's been running really slowly, it was fine last week.
it mainly just freezes for about 2-4 seconds and then starts running again, or runs VERY slowly for about 3 seconds

since sunday i've removed a bunch of useless stuff (about 20-30 gigs actually [games i don't play anymore and other stuff]) and run virus scans but my computer is still running slow.
is it just because my computer is getting older or what?

Disk Defragmentation?

Disk Defragmentation?
might try this. will reply later if i do.

so apparently it is all already 0% fragmented except the system which is 6%

is this what's slowing it down a lot?
anyone have any other suggestions?
(also was too lazy to upload picture)

ignore me, i don't know what i'm talking about

Clean the registry (you can find a tool to do this online,) remove any unneeded software, run Disk Cleanup, defragment the drive, and check for errors on the drive.
I do this every week and my startup time for everything is incredibly fast.
