I think I've figured out how something on deviantart is bad:

Use MS Paint to create the bulk of it
Make it an OC
Put some sort of odd special interest in it
Bonus points if the OC is from an already cringy material

Do all of that and you'll create a cringe singularity, from which no cringe can escape
