Okay, surprised nobody has asked about this yet, does GUI downloading actually download GUIs from the server upon joining it? or is this strictly for RTB GUIs or something

This has been in RTB for a long ass time. You download GUIs from the server. What you can put in the GUI is very limited to prevent abuse, as well as other limitations, so don't expect to make anything special with it.

very limited to prevent abuse
such as?, I see it simply ignoring commands that could be used to mess with the player

There are a million ways to screw up a game, and implanting commands in the buttons of a GUI that could suggest completely otherwise would be a problem, even if only possible by the admin or someone stupid enough to have an eval. Not only that, there are limitations.

Someone should make a topic on it, I'd like to know what limitations you have to sending users a GUI

I would also.

Basically a GUI with buttons on it that call server commands.

The server cannot change the GUI, what's sent is sent.
The only command the GUI can call is commandToServer

Can we expect this feature to come default with blockland in future versions?, just like the downloading the files from the server that was made default?

also, I love the way the .pdf looks, very professional

Honestly, you're extremely 'late to the party.' Everything was already discussed, it's not something that would be added like you're asking because all these reasons a lot of people don't even care to remember... Sorry.

Was it discussed in the RTB topic? if so, I don't pay attention to it

I plan to seriously re-visit it at some point since I realise a lot of people don't really care for it at the moment and it's hardly very useful for modders in it's current state.

I might try it out actually

its probrebly because its either not very known, or the limitations make players not want to have to go through all the trouble

Found more info, go to HERE and go to the GUI Downloading section.
