Author Topic: Microsoft has figured out how to turn any surface into a touch screen  (Read 2321 times)

Because this is totally the final model that everyone will use for anything like this.
This is a demo. It's not supposed to look good.

What I'm saying is, in any case, if you're wearing that, people are going to be looking. And how you make something like that literally private would be beyond me, especially being so attention grabbing, including the light.

I have absolutely no idea what you're getting at. You come in here talking about it like it's complete and this is exactly what people will be using in the future and walking around with it. Jesus christ, this is called a demo for a reason.

Also the same technology could be implemented with something like glasses that have a screen on them or whatever, so it really is private. It's just more plausible that someone would use this sort of technology to control the interface rather than having it 'wired to their brain.'

They have built their system around a display which is basically bright light. Do you know something we don't about an alternative to this? Because I'm usually saying what you're saying to me to others, so I think I know a bit or two about ranting like a maniac. One of my points is the end of the video showed them moving their hand to show public or private. Minus the hand movement, just the concept of private, I don't understand how that could ever work with a projected display. A projected display could never be private. The a large portion of their system would have to be uprooted to accommodate this.

That's way too close to see.

Poke your eyes out :c

What happens when Steve Jobs dies.

Because our current electronics have screens that only the user can see?

What happens when Steve Jobs dies.
What?

Looks amazing...but also like it would take a long time to learn/get used to

I image one of these cameras planted in your shirt, at your chest right below your chin. Then a small pack is across your back, connected to the shirt camera. Makes it look less silly.

Because our current electronics have screens that only the user can see?

Yes. How did you know?! We just loving perfected that you bastard!

This pretty much already existed. Good thing they're developing it though.

This looks really cool, like the kind of thing you see in futuristic movies. Holograms anyone?

research will never be the same...
