Author Topic: Of mice and men is an amazing story :c  (Read 2719 times)

I read the book in my freshman year as part of English 1, and I didn't pay much attention because I was uninterested in reading the book (Maintained the always stuffty middle school read group book mentality.). I found the copy buried in my history books today, and re-read the story. It really is amazingly written, despite in being less than a hundred pages. The plot was executed quite good, and you really do feel the characters. The ending was sad.

Has anyone else read this novel?

I read it during sixth grade
simply amazing novel
it's my favourite book c:
during the sixth grade I also read flowers for algernon which is also a very nice book

For a second I thought you were going to the same highschool as me, but then I re-read your post.

My Freshmen English class is reading it as well. Haven't reached the end yet, but so far it's a great book with some nice humor. <3 Lennie

We're reading it in English Lit atm.

Has anyone read Bud Not Buddy?

am I the only one that read it of their own accord?

Read it last year. Great novel. Too much in it for teachers to exploit though.

so what he killed SPOILER's SPOILER.
YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO SHOOT LENNIE

HE WAS JUST A handicap WHO FLIPPED A TIT WHEN SHE RESISTED HIS TOUCH

HE DIDN'T KNOW ANY BETTER

If SPOILER didn't shoot Lennie, someone else would have, or worse.

This also.

like I already said like five posts above
read flowers for algernon
it also includes a handicap, except it's modern day and he gets a successful operation that makes him smarter
there's a movie for it, albeit it's pretty trippy

he shot Lennie

Well, I'm out of this topic. I have the book in my backpack, might as well read ahead of the class anyways.
