Is there something wrong with my CPU?

The CPU monitor thing says it keeps jumping from very low CPU usages to very high usages. It keeps spiking like this constantly, but my task manager doesn't say anything is using up a bunch of CPU.

I also want to mention it's been doing this for about 20 minutes.



You can see the graph at the bottom showing just how much it has been spiking. Usually the line stays near the bottom.

Is the monitor wrong or is there a problem here?

How many programs have you been starting at a time recently?

Look at task manager and see what process is causing the spike.

Just to toss something in, My second core never does go as high as my first core.
