Author Topic: What do YOU think of the Occupation in Wallstreet?  (Read 1965 times)

Guys, hard working people have more money than me, forget this stuff I'm going to cause a public disturbance so that will change!

It would be better if they had weapons and they were forming riots and then Mi-24 helicopters come to opress those riots and bam and kaboom and die.

They need a more central leadership, it seems. That's why a number of people see them as foolish - They have no real body representing them. Granted, that may be the point, but electing delegates to oversee the assembly and appointing some folks to reform the conditions they are protesting under may not be a bad idea. Why they already have a direct democracy sort of thing going on, I think a little alignment and focus could only aid them in their venture.

Steven Colbert offered to be the leader.

These protests are non-violent and follow that code.

Protests don't change alot, sadly.

And you're calling the one percent hard-working? Lol.

Im going to occupy Tucson this week to take pictures n such.

Occupy Wall Street is as effective as sitting in your driveway vowing to never go to school again. The parents win.

sorry for working hard and building a business

Homeless: I want money!
Government: So do I!
Homeless: I don't have a home!
Government: Who's fault is that?!
Homeless: Yours! You screwed over the economy!
Government: So did you!
Homeless: Nuh uh!
Government: Uh huh!

If the rich control the world it's everyone else's fault. The statistic of 1% makes this clear. The 1% have no real control over everyone else, if people really wanted to, they could revolt. Sure, the protesters should be allowed to try and revolt, but they are clearly not enough to successfully change things.

The simple fact it that the majority (or near majority) of people are okay with things the way they are, otherwise things would be different.

protest =/= public disturbance
also this is about the rich using the money to do dumb stuff and then proceed to dodge taxes or pay a lower percentage of taxes than the rest of us

Now seems like a good time to mention that the chairmen of the Federal Reserve is named the third most powerful man in the world.

I can no longer find him on the list.

He's number 8 out of 100.

Lazy =/= Poor
Hard working =/= Rich

Here is what I think what the people think:

Protesters: A guy who worked harder than I did to get payed more and is taxed at 18% while I get taxed at 20% and work as a janitor at McDonalds, because I dropped out. Better protest.

The Banks: More money!

The Rich: Its my hard earned/inherited money! Mine! Tax me less so I can make more!

Cops: Another day at the office.
