Author Topic: [RESOURCE] Bedroom and Kitchen .dae, .blend ADDED TUTORIAL  (Read 5576 times)

how did you get it in constructor?
Exported to Quake Map in blender. It worked fine but it was too laggy to move.

Totally. Awesome. Brofist soba.

The .map exporter in Blender is so jacked up it doesn't work.

It works for me but it does mess up the models a bit. Sometimes it's hardly noticeable and sometimes it just makes you cry.

yea constructor is crap and i dunno if hammer has support for .map or .dae or if there is a converter. i am also wondering if it will be difficult to convert since blender registers it as one big model not separate 'brushes'

examining these maps really makes me realize i've been doing it wrong. i first though the outer walls of the bedroom were just really thick and connected to the inside, when they are really just paper thin, which is why you cannot see the inside of them when you clip through bedroom walls and look out (backfaces), which is completely unlike the 'bathroom' map which uses thick brushes where you can clip inside a huge empty house, and my tyler's house map which uses cleverly placed thick brushes.

i do not know how to flip faces in constructor or how to enable backface view, i am trying to find out though.

Oh thanks for that, Heed. I might actually change Bathroom to be like that just for the heck of it, but it's really just preference.

Someone needs to give soba head.

Still WIP.

it is better optimized the way badspot does it, except i don't know HOW he does it. is there a way to reverse face direction in constructor or hammer?

demian what is with the spiral of carpet on the floor? is it an illusion or an error?

A rather odd error. The texture is repeated a lot, I'll fix it in time.

i have tried numerous methods to get these recognized by blender, quark, or hammer and none seem to work. i think it's because the .dae is just one object which registers as concave. i would love to use these for scaling purposes for future map design but i do not think it will ever be used. Whoever exported these as a .dae, i believe the new torque supports .dae as interior files? can you try importing them again after converting them?

Yes, it's fully possible.

do you know how? i managed to import it into constructor as a .dts which allowed me to get the measurements i needed. i really wish badspot would release the brush files for these though :/

oh ho ho! well now, looks like SOMEONES been busy, nice work demian!

send the .map of it all set up with the UV coords and stuff and I'll put it in the OP for others

i dont think thats a .map...
